Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 56 - Astoria to Vancouver

Last road morning - view of the Columbia from our room.

Rudolph is an annual attraction in Astoria.

It may be just me, but is there something extraordinarily creepy about these babies?

In Astoria it's not Santa and the reindeer - it's Frosty and a Coast Guard Cutter.

Things are looking a little frosty for our drive home.

Winter is definitely in the air.

The World-Famous Iron Deer of Raymond graze in the fresh snow.

Never go camping without your trusty step ladder.

Still time for a few more throws at Dosewallips State Park. Brrrr it's cold here!

It's funny we've never snooped in here before - we go through Port Townsend at least once a year. The port is buzzing with ship building and refitting, and there are some amazing hulls on display.

Westward is all the way here from Alaska.

Boat ambulance.

Of course, we stumble in here after sunset, so there is very little time to explore. Next time.

The whole reason we're in the port in the first place. Laurette's was closed, and this was Plan B. Sunrise may well have promoted itself to Plan A. Their roasting plant is right in the back.

We know we're home when we turn onto our street and the neighbours are already well into the Christmas decorating spirit. Oh, and of course we have bike symbols painted all over the roads which is just fine for our street which is a designated bikeway. The problem is they're on all the streets that are completely unsuited for biking. Gregor always thinks his ideas are more applicable than they really are.
